App State won, but both Elon and UNCW were handed defeats

GREENSBORO — Landon Glasper’s 19 points helped N.C. A&T defeat Campbell 76-62 on Thursday night.

Glasper had seven rebounds for the Aggies (3-11, 1-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Camian Shell scored 18 points and added five assists, and Jason Murphy finished with 10 points.

Anthony Dell’Orso led the way for the Fighting Camels (6-8, 0-1) with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Laurynas Vaistaras added 13 points and three steals for Campbell. In addition, Jasin Sinani finished with 10 points.

Appalachian State 91, South Alabama 84 (OT)

MOBILE, Ala. — Tre’Von Spillers had 23 points in Appalachian State’s 91-84 overtime victory over South Alabama on Thursday night.

Spillers also added nine rebounds for the Mountaineers (11-3, 2-0 Sun Belt Conference). Terence Harcum scored 15 points, shooting 6 for 7, including 3 for 3 from beyond the arc. CJ Huntley finished with 14 points, including making a pair of free throws to open the scoring in overtime. Christopher Mantis followed with a 3 and Huntley added a layup to make it 89-82 with 1:57 to play.

Isiah Gaiter led the way for the Jaguars (8-6, 1-1) with 29 points, four assists and two steals. South Alabama also got 19 points, four assists and two steals from Tyrell Jones. In addition, Thomas Howell had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

William & Mary 77, Elon 70

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Chase Lowe and Charlie Williams had 18 points apiece in William & Mary’s 77-70 win over Elon on Thursday night as the teams opened Coastal Athletic Association play.

Lowe also contributed 12 rebounds for the Tribe (6-8). Williams also had seven rebounds. Gabe Dorsey finished with 13 points.

Rob Higgins led the way for the Phoenix (7-7) with 19 points and two steals. Max Mackinnon added 14 points and six rebounds for Elon. Nick Dorn also put up 13 points and two steals.

Drexel 78, UNC Wilmington 63

PHILADELPHIA — Luke House had 25 points in Drexel’s 78-63 victory over UNC Wilmington on Thursday night.

House was 9 of 12 shooting (5 for 7 from 3-point range) for the Dragons (9-6, 2-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Amari Williams scored 17 points and added six rebounds. Justin Moore finished with 11 points.

Trazarien White led the Seahawks (9-4, 0-1) in scoring, finishing with 19 points and nine rebounds. Donovan Newby added 16 points for UNC Wilmington. In addition, KJ Jenkins finished with 11 points.

UNC Wilmington visits Towson on Saturday.
