RALEIGH — Republican incumbent state Rep. Chris Humphrey has held his seat in Pitt and Lenoir counties’ N.C. House District 12 race, beating Democratic challenger Virginia Cox-Daugherty with 19,595 votes to Cox-Daugherty’s 16,239, a nearly 55% to 45% difference.
Humphrey came into the race as a first-term legislator and Allstate insurance salesman who won the seat in 2018, while Cox-Daugherty is a career educator.
