“Mountain Landscape” is a painting by Caspar David Friedrich (1804) in the collection of Goethe National Museum in Weimar, Germany, and was an antecedent to his famous “Tetschen Altar” depicting a cross in the mountains. The altar painting is in the collection of Galerie Neue Meister in Dresden. (Public domain)
