After moving to the top spot in the rankings, Wingate suffered its first loss, leaving North Carolina without an unbeaten team. At the bottom of the rankings, two teams are still winless after Methodist recorded its first victory.

North Carolina team posted their best weekly winning percentage of the last two seasons and moved to within two games of .500.

Two teams had homecoming last week, with J.C. Smith beating Bluefield and Guilford getting blown out by Hampden-Sydney.
