RALEIGH — Congressman David Rouzer has won reelection in the race for North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District.
The results are not yet finalized but at this time Rouzer has received over 62% of the vote against his challenger Democrat Marlando Pridgen.
Rouzer has spent nine years in Congress and was first elected to the seat in the 2014 General Election. He took office in January 2015.
He holds a Bachelor of the Arts in agricultural business management, agricultural economics, and chemistry from North Carolina State University (1994). He also worked for the the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University and has also served as an associate administrator and rural administrator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture during former President George W. Bush’s administration.
Rouzer was a past staffer for U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina (2003-2005) and served on the staff for U.S. Senator Jesse Helms (1996-2000).
