WILMINGTON — Shykeim Phillips had 24 points in UNC Wilmington’s 73-54 victory over North Carolina A&T on Thursday night.
Phillips also added six assists for the Seahawks (19-6, 10-3 Coastal Athletic Association). KJ Jenkins scored 12 points, finishing 4 of 7 from 3-point range. Maleeck Harden-Hayes added 12 points.
Camian Shell led the Aggies (7-19, 5-8) in scoring, finishing with 21 points and two steals. Jalal McKie added 11 points and six rebounds and Jason Murphy finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Elon 73, Delaware 67
ELON — Max Mackinnon scored 26 points and TK Simpkins added 25 in Elon’s 73-67 win against Delaware on Thursday night.
Mackinnon added five rebounds and three steals for the Phoenix (11-15, 4-9 Coastal Athletic Association), and Simpkins also had six rebounds. Isaac Harrell finished with eight points.
Gerald Drumgoole Jr. led the Fightin’ Blue Hens (16-10, 8-5) in scoring, finishing with 24 points, five assists and two steals. Jyare Davis added 19 points and 11 rebounds for Delaware. In addition, Christian Ray had 10 points, 12 rebounds and two steals.
Charlotte 79, UTSA 70
CHARLOTTE — Dishon Jackson’s 19 points helped Charlotte defeat UTSA 79-70 on Thursday night.
Jackson was 5 of 9 shooting and 9 of 11 from the free throw line for the 49ers (16-8, 10-2 American Athletic Conference). Lu’Cye Patterson added 17 points and six rebounds. Nik Graves scored 12.
The Roadrunners (8-17, 2-10) were led by PJ Carter with 22 points. Christian Tucker added 13 points and three steals. Dre Fuller Jr. scored 10.
East Carolina 68, Wichita State 55
GREENVILLE — Brandon Johnson and RJ Felton scored 21 points each to help East Carolina defeat Wichita State 68-55 on Thursday night.
Johnson also had 10 rebounds and four steals for the Pirates (13-12, 6-6 American Athletic Conference). Felton added seven rebounds. Bobby Pettiford finished with eight points.
Colby Rogers led the Shockers (10-15, 2-10) in scoring, finishing with 16 points and two steals. Wichita State also got 12 points from Harlond Beverly. In addition, Dalen Ridgnal finished with nine points and two steals.
Appalachian State 73, Marshall 58
BOONE — Donovan Gregory had 19 points in Appalachian State’s 73-58 victory against Marshall on Thursday night.
Gregory added six steals for the Mountaineers (21-5, 11-2 Sun Belt Conference). Tre’Von Spillers had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Myles Tate finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Kevon Voyles led the way for the Thundering Herd (12-14, 7-6) with 19 points. Marshall also got 11 points, nine rebounds and four steals from Jacob Conner. Kamdyn Curfman also put up 11 points and four steals.
Monmouth 88, Campbell 87
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Xander Rice scored 37 points, including a 3-pointer just before the final buzzer, to lead Monmouth over Campbell 88-87 on Thursday night.
Trailing 87-85 with 2.3 seconds remaining, Rice caught an inbounds pass near the free-throw line and raced to midcourt before banking in a contested shot for his eighth 3-pointer of the game.
Rice also contributed five assists for the Hawks (14-12, 7-6 Coastal Athletic Association). Jaret Valencia scored 13 points and added five rebounds and four blocks. Jack Collins had 12 points.
Anthony Dell’Orso led the Fighting Camels (12-14, 6-7), finishing with 31 points, 10 rebounds and two steals. Gediminas Mokseckas added 15 points and four assists for Campbell. In addition, Elijah Walsh finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
