RALEIGH — N.C. House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Kings Mountain) and Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Eden) have both issued statements regarding the ongoing dispute between the Biden administration and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott over the role of federal and state officials at the southern border.

A letter signed by all 30 Senate Republicans said in part, “We are writing to call on your administration to stop thwarting Texas from effectively guarding the southern border. The United States is facing a national security crisis with real threats of crime, drug trafficking and terrorism.”

Moore and House Republican leaders will hold a press conference on Wednesday to urge Gov. Roy Cooper to take action.
