NASSAU, Bahamas — Harrison Ingram scored 16 points, Cormac Ryan added 15 points and No. 14 UNC used a big second half run to beat Northern Iowa 91-69 on Wednesday in the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis.

UNC (4-0) will play on Thursday against Villanova, which beat Texas Tech. Northern Iowa (1-3) moves into the consolation bracket.

UNC trailed 41-35 at halftime after making just 9 of 27 shots, including 3 of 13 from 3-point range. But the Tar Heels made eight of their first nine 3-pointers in the second half and scored 34 of the opening 40 points for a 69-47 lead.

UNC started the second half on a 19-2 run for a 54-42 lead. Ryan and Ingram each made a 3-pointer on back-to-back possessions during an 8-0 run, and Ryan added two straight 3-pointers to end the second 8-0 run.

The Panthers, who shot 60% in the first half, didn’t make a shot from the field in the second half until the 13:52 mark, and their second field goal was with 8:44 remaining.

Freshman Elliot Cadeau scored 11 of his 15 points in the final 11 minutes for UNC. RJ Davis added 13 points, Jae’Lyn Withers scored 11 and Armando Bacot had 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

Nate Heise scored 14 points and Jacob Hutson had 10 for Northern Iowa. Tytan Anderson had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Northern Iowa was seeking its first win over an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent since defeating UNC State in the 2017 Battle 4 Atlantis.

Appalachian State 67, Murray State 57

FORT MEYERS, Fla. — Donovan Gregory scored 16 points as Appalachian State beat Murray State 67-57 on Wednesday in the Palms Division of the Fort Myers Tip-Off.

Gregory had six rebounds for the Mountaineers (3-2). Terence Harcum added 13 points, and Tre’Von Spillers finished with 10 points.

The Racers (2-3) were led in scoring by Brian Moore Jr., who finished with 18 points. Jacobi Wood added 11 points for Murray State. In addition, Rob Perry had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Campbell 65, The Citadel 58

BUIES CREEK — Laurynas Vaistaras had 13 points in Campbell’s 65-58 victory against The Citadel on Wednesday night.

Vaistaras shot 4 for 8 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) for the Fighting Camels (2-4). Anthony Dell’Orso added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jasin Sinani had nine points.

Elijah Morgan finished with 16 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (3-4). Winston Hill added 13 points and eight rebounds for The Citadel. In addition, AJ Smith finished with 12 points.

Queens 97, Fairleigh Dickinson 84

CHARLOTTE — AJ McKee’s 26 points helped Queens defeat Fairleigh Dickinson 97-84 on Wednesday night.

McKee was 11-of-19 shooting for the Royals (3-3). Deyton Albury scored 21 points and added five assists. Logan Threatt finished with 14 points.

Sean Moore finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights (4-2). Ansley Almonor added 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks for Fairleigh Dickinson. Joe Munden Jr. also had 12 points.

Hofstra 97, High Point 92 (OT)

ESTERO, Fla. — Tyler Thomas scored 40 points as Hofstra beat High Point 97-92 in overtime on Wednesday night.

Thomas also added eight rebounds and five assists for the Pride (4-2). Jaquan Carlos scored 18 points and added seven rebounds and eight assists. Darlinstone Dubar had 12 points.

Duke Miles finished with 32 points and four assists for the Panthers (3-3). Kezza Giffa added 19 points for High Point. Abdoulaye Thiam also had 15 points.

Merrimack 96, North Carolina A&T 73

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Adam Clark scored 19 points as Merrimack beat N.C. A&T 96-73 at Samford’s MTE tourney on Wednesday night.

Clark added six assists and four steals for the Warriors (3-2). Samba Diallo added 18 points while going 6 of 10 from the floor and also had five rebounds. Jordan Derkack and Jaylen Stinson both had 14 points.

Landon Glasper finished with 27 points for the Aggies (0-4). Jeremy Robinson added 17 points for N.C. A&T. Nikolaos Chitikoudis also had eight points.

N.C. A&T plays Alabama State on Friday.
