David Rouzer wins 7th Congressional District

RALEIGH — Republican David Rouzer has won reelection for North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District.

With all precincts reporting, Rouzer unofficially took in 159,982 votes (57.83%) over Democrat Charles Graham, who received 116,640 votes (42.17%).

Graham had been a state house member representing Robeson County since 2011.

Prior to running for Congress, Rouzer served in the North Carolina state senate, representing District 12 from 2009 to 2013. He left the General Assembly in 2012 to run unsuccessfully for a seat in the U.S. House. Rouzer lost by a razor-thin margin of 0.2% of the vote.

Rouzer first took office in the 7th District after the 2014 midterms. He defeated Democratic challenger Christopher Ward for the seat in 2020.

Previous positions for Rouzer include senior policy adviser for former Sens. Jesse Helms and Elizabeth Dole.
