Davidson, Elon and UNCG all lost

CONWAY, S.C. — Brice Williams helped lead Charlotte over Boise State on Thursday night with 12 points off of the bench in a 54-42 victory.

Williams also added five rebounds for the 49ers (3-0). Aly Khalifa scored 10 points while going 4 of 7 from the field and added five rebounds and five assists. Montre’ Gipson finished 4 of 8 from the field to finish with eight points while adding six rebounds and three steals.

Tyson Degenhart led the way for the Broncos (1-2) with 14 points. Boise State also got nine points and 10 rebounds from Marcus Shaver Jr.. In addition, Chibuzo Agbo had six points and six rebounds.

Charleston 86, Davidson 66

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Dalton Bolon had 21 points in Charleston’s 89-66 victory over Davidson on Thursday night.

Bolon added seven rebounds for the Cougars (3-1). Ryan Larson scored 21 points while going 7 of 11 (5 for 7 from distance) and added five assists. Pat Robinson III was 6-of-10 shooting to finish with 13 points while adding seven rebounds.

The Wildcats (3-1) were led in scoring by Sam Mennenga, who finished with 19 points and eight rebounds. Grant Huffman added 17 points and two steals for Davidson. In addition, Connor Kochera had 12 points.

North Dakota 77, Elon 73

ELON — Mitchell Sueker had 15 points in North Dakota’s 77-73 win over Elon on Thursday.

Sueker added nine rebounds and five assists for the Fightin’ Hawks (2-2). Treysen Eaglestaff scored 15 points, going 6 of 10 (3 for 6 from distance). B.J. Omot recorded 12 points and was 3-of-11 shooting, including 2 for 8 from distance, and went 4 for 4 from the line.

Sean Halloran led the way for the Phoenix (1-3) with 21 points. Zac Ervin added 15 points for Elon. Torrence Watson also had 12 points.

Towson 56, UNC Greensboro 53

GREENSBORO — Nicolas Timberlake scored 26 points as Towson beat UNC Greensboro 56-53 on Thursday night.

Timberlake shot 10 for 19 (3 for 8 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line for the Tigers (4-0). Charles Thompson scored 14 points while finishing 7 of 10 from the floor and added seven rebounds and four blocks. Sekou Sylla recorded nine points and was 2-of-4 shooting and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line.

The Spartans (1-2) were led by Keyshaun Langley, who posted 16 points. UNC Greensboro also got 10 points from Mohammed Abdulsalam. Keondre Kennedy also put up nine points and nine rebounds.
