Former President Donald Trump released a statement on Friday, June 4, previewing his speech on Saturday, June 5 at the NCGOP convention in Greenville.

“A great honor to be speaking at the North Carolina GOP convention tomorrow night. I understand the place will be packed, all records broken,” said Trump.

Trump also thanked NCGOP chairman Michael Whatley after his for the “big victory” in the state.

“Before my Election in 2016, everybody said North Carolina was going “Blue,” now they are saying that the Great State of North Carolina is surging big for Republicans. Look at the results we have produced,” Trump added.

A day earlier, Trump made his first endorsement in the state’s 2022 elections, backing longtime U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC-05).

Trump said Foxx was an America First conservative and helped win the state from Trump in ’16 and ’20.

“Congresswoman Foxx is Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, supports finishing our almost completed Border Wall, and is a fierce advocate for American workers. I am a big fan of Virginia Foxx, and she has my Complete and Total Endorsement for re-election,” he added.
