RALEIGH — North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Kings Mountain) released a statement announcing his new communications director, Demi Dowdy.

“Dowdy is a first generation Cuban-American and lives in Harnett County. She brings 12 years of policy and communications experience, including three years as Communications Director for the Civitas Institute (now John Locke Foundation) here in Raleigh,” the press statement reads.

The statement also noted that Dowdy is “also a gifted columnist who has been featured in Town Hall, the Daily Caller, and more.”

Dowdy replaces Joseph Kyzer, who had served as Moore’s communication director and policy advisor since October of 2016.

At the end of March, Kyzer took up the position as Legislative Liaison for the Administrative Office of the Courts, working for Chief Justice Paul Newby.
