Three-term Republican U.S. Rep. Ted Budd is in.

In a campaign video released Wednesday, Budd said, “I believe in freedom, capitalism and putting America first.“

Budd’s entry into the race follows former Gov. Pat McCrory two weeks ago and former U.S. Rep. Mark Walker, who has been a formal candidate since Dec. 2020.

Budd teased the announcement following a meeting with former President Donald Trump, posting to his Facebook page a picture of the two and saying, “Great meeting with President Trump over the weekend and discussing the future of North Carolina. Big things to come!”

Fox News first reported the announcement.
