North Carolina’s scheduled game against Syracuse at the Smith Center on Saturday, January 2 has become the latest ACC basketball game to be postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The conference announced the schedule change on Wednesday.

The postponement was brought about by positive COVID-19 tests among a recent Syracuse opponent, which has forced members of the Orange into contact tracing quarantine.

Syracuse (6-1, 1-0 ACC)  has had two other games affected by the coronavirus. Tuesday’s game against Notre Dame was postponed, while its matchup with Wake Forest in Winston-Salem on December 30 will also be rescheduled.

UNC, which is 5-3 (0-1) after Tuesday’s loss at NC State, is still scheduled to play at Georgia Tech on December 30.
