UNCW wins in a rout; NC A&T loses fourth straight

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jordan Whitfield scored a career-high 26 points as Campbell defeated New Orleans 79-70 on in the Dolphin Classic on Wednesday.

Whitfield hit 8 of 10 shots. He added six rebounds.

Ricky Clemons added a career-best 14 points, Jesus Carralero added 10 off the bench as Campbell is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Troy Green scored a career-high 34 points on 12-0f-18 shooting for the Privateers (1-4). Derek St. Hilaire added 10 points. New Orleans cut a 23-point deficit to seven.

 Having defeated host Jacksonville Tuesday night, Campbell has earned at least a share of the tournament title when it concludes Thursday.

VCU 95, NC A&T 59

RICHMOND, Va. — Nah’Shon Hyland had a career-high 30 points as VCU routed NC A&T 95-59 on Wednesday night.

Adrian Baldwin Jr. had 10 points for VCU (4-2). Vince Williams Jr. added eight rebounds and Hason Ward had four blocks.

Tyrone Lyons had 13 points for the Aggies (2-6), who have now lost four games in a row. Blake Harris added 12 points and Kameron Langley had 11.

UNC Wilmington 116, St. Andrews Presbyterian 66

WILMINGTON — Jake Boggs scored a career-high 25 points and Ty Gadsden added 22 as UNC Wilmington easily beat St. Andrews Presbyterian 116-66 on Wednesday night.

Boggs hit 9 of 12 shots, and Gadsden had six assists.

Imajae Dodd had 13 points for UNC Wilmington (3-2). Joe Pridgen added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

It was the first time this season UNC Wilmington scored at least 100 points.

Isaac Clay had 18 points for the Knights.
