Republican John Bradford won against Democratic incumbent Rep. Christy Clark, retaking Mecklenburg County’s N.C. House District 98 seat, 52% to 48%. The vote totals were 31,619 for Bradford to 29,582 for Clark.
The race was a rematch from 2018, when Clark unseated Bradford. Bradford is a small business owner and has held a variety of state and local public offices, and Clark is a paralegal at her family’s law firm and a gun control activist.
