Democratic incumbent David Price wins NC 4th U.S. Congressional District race

RALEIGH — Democrat Rep. David Price has beaten Republican challenger Robert Thomas to retain the North Carolina 4th U.S. Congressional seat.

Price has held the seat for 23 years, winning it in 1997 after defeating Republican Bill Cobey after just one term. Price also held the seat from 1987 to 1995. The gap in service for Price came in 1994 when he was defeated by Republican challenger Fred Heineman. The margin in the 1994 race was less than 1%.

The N.C. State Board of Elections (NCSBE) will continue to accept absentee ballots through Nov. 12.  Due to the extended deadline for those ballots, results reported on election night may change.
