Power outages across North Carolina from Zeta

RALEIGH – Over 459,000 are without power statewide as the tropical system known as Zeta sped across the Southeast on Thursday.

A Category 2 hurricane when it hit the southeastern Louisiana coast Wednesday, Zeta was still a tropical storm as late as Thursday morning.

Forsyth, Guilford, Mecklenburg and Iredell counties recorded the most outages as utility crews work to restore power across the state.
