Get your Hawaiian shirts ready, because the Maui Invitational is coming to North Carolina.

The annual Thanksgiving week college basketball tournament will be played a week later in Asheville this year at Harrah’s Cherokee Center. ESPN reported that the tournament — which will include two North Carolina schools, UNC and Davidson — will take place Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. The other schools are Alabama, Indiana, Providence, Stanford, Texas and UNLV.

The tournament is normally held the three days before Thanksgiving in Hawaii, but the coronavirus pandemic forced both the relocation and change in date — the college basketball season is not scheduled to start until Nov. 25.
