Louis DeJoy named USPS Postmaster General

GREENSBORO – Louis DeJoy, a well-known Greensboro businessman, was named by the United States Postal Service board as Postmaster General. He is expected to begin in the role on June 15.

DeJoy served as chairman and CEO of New Breed Logistics for over 30 years and later as CEO of an XPO Logistics division before retiring from the role. DeJoy is president of LDJ Global Strategies, LLC, a strategic real estate investment and consulting company based in Greensboro. He also holds several board positions and is a well-known for his service on a number of civic, business, institutional, and educational organizations including the Board of Trustees for Elon University and the PGA Wyndham Championship.

DeJoy was named as the national finance chairman in 2018 of the Charlotte 2020 Host Committee to lead fundraising for the Republican National Convention last year.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Stetson University. DeJoy is married to Dr. Aldona Wos, former N.C. Department of Health and Human Services secretary and U.S. Ambassador to Estonia. In February 2020, she was nominated to become U.S. Ambassador to Canada.
