WINSTON-SALEM — You can now order your favorite doughnuts from Krispy Kreme online and have them delivered. The confectioner announced Monday a list of about 100 shops, including 20 in N.C., that will offer mobile app ordering and local delivery.

Locally, locations at Stratford Road and University Parkway will have the new program. Additional Triad locations implementing the new system include Clemmons and two locations in Greensboro.

According to a release from the company, the menu items available will be limited to dozens, coffee boxes and bottled beverages with a minimum order of $7.99 and delivery fees vary by location. For pick-up orders made through the app, there is no minimum order amount.

Krispy Kreme said that it is currently in the process of rolling out online ordering across all of its locations and should be complete by the end of 2019.

The company says that the delivery radius will vary by location but the goal is a delivery range within five miles of the location.

Krispy Kreme is also celebrating America with a patriotic doughnut collection and a special offer, just in time for the Fourth of July. Krispy Kreme’s “Let Freedom Ring” doughnuts are a playful take on some of the holiday’s patriotic symbols in the form of three delicious ring doughnuts.

Available for a limited time beginning Monday, June 24 at participating Krispy Kreme shops across the U.S., the collection includes the “Freedom Ring Doughnut” decorated with red, white, and blue icing and topped with patriotic sprinkles, the “Sprinkled Ring Doughnut” dipped in white icing and topped with red, white, and blue sprinkles and the “Firework Ring Doughnut” dipped in blue icing and decorated with red and white stripes.

To make July 4th even sweeter, Krispy Kreme Reward members are eligible for a free dozen of Original Glazed doughnuts when they purchase any dozen on July 4.

“Krispy Kreme doughnuts are a classic American treat and we just upped the America part. If you bring these red, white and blue doughnuts to a celebration, you can expect to be greeted with smiles,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation.

The patriotic doughnuts come as Krispy Kreme is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch with special filled doughnuts. The company says it served doughnuts to the witnesses of the Apollo 11 launch.
