RALEIGH — The Krispy Kreme Challenge is one of the most unique charity events in North Carolina. Founded by Park Scholars at N.C. State, the annual competition celebrated its 15th year last weekend. The challenge asks runners to run 2.5 miles from N.C. State’s Memorial Belltower to the North Person Street Krispy Kreme store, eat a dozen doughnuts and then run back to the belltower. This year’s event raised $190,000 for UNC Children’s Hospital. Over 5,000 people participated in this year’s challenge, according to the event’s organizers.
Krispy Kreme has stores in 21 counties across North Carolina (and is available in grocery stores from Murphy to Manteo). Have you visited every location?
