According to their website, differentiator.com, the firm will be a “vertically integrated policy, political and public affairs” shop built on the experience of Martin and Blaine.

In a release, the pair touted their experience and track record. “There are many accomplished, successful and talented lobbyists in Raleigh, but an effective advocacy effort in the modern political and policy environment requires a comprehensive approach to supplement traditional lobbying,” said Blaine and Martin.  “We believe our complementary skill sets and unique experiences can fill that space and offer premium services and products for a wide range of clients.”

Notably, the firm lists consulting, advocacy and political campaigns, public relations, and public affairs as offered services but does not list lobbying.

Martin lives in North Raleigh with his wife, Rachel, and their three-year-old son. They’re expecting a baby girl in late January. Blaine is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill. He also lives in Raleigh along with his wife and four daughters.
