NC State wide receiver Jakobi Meyers won the ACC Receiver of the Week award after catching 14 passes  in the season-opening win over James Madison.

Meyers is the first Wolfpack receiver to win the award in nearly six years, since Tobais Palmer won on Nov. 19, 2012. Meyers had 161 yards, despite playing the second half with a sprained ankle. His catch total is one shy of the school record, set by Jaylen Samuels and Torry Holt.

Wake Forest freshman receiver Sage Surratt won the ACC Rookie of the Week, on the strength of his 11 catches for 150 yards in the Deacs’ win over Tulane.

It’s the fourth straight year a Deacon freshman has won Rookie of the Week. Receiver Greg Dortch won it twice last season. Safety Jesse Bates and running back Cade Carney each won it in 2016. Quarterback Kendall Hinton won it in 2015.

Other winners around the conference included Eric Dungey, of Syracuse (QB of the Week), Jordan Ellis, UVA (Running back), Tremayne Anchrum, Clemson and Chris Lindstrom, BC (co-Offensive Linemen), Gerald Willis III, Miami (Defensive lineman), Rayshard Ashby, Virginia Tech (Linebacker), Caleb Farley, Virginia Tech (Defensive back), Maurice Ffrench, Pitt (Specialist).
