North Carolina produces a large haul of baseball draftees

More than 50 college and high school players with state ties have been selected by Major League Baseball teams over the past three days

The marathon that is the annual Major League Baseball free agent draft finally came to an end Wednesday with 70 players with North Carolina ties from 20 different colleges and nine high schools selected over the 40 rounds.
