For the third time this season, East Carolina’s Shawn Williams has been named the American Athletic Conference’s Rookie of the Week.

The redshirt freshman guard earned his latest award by scoring a career-high 30 points in the Pirates’ overtime win against Memphis on Saturday. Williams went 6 of 10 on 3-pointers in the game and scored 10 of his team’s 11 points in overtime to help secure the victory.

For the week, Williams averaged 22.5 points in two games. ECU lost to Tulane in overtime on Wednesday.

Joining Williams on the AAC’s weekly honor roll was his Pirates teammate Isaac Fleming. The junior transfer from Hawaii also had a big game in Saturday’s win, recording the first-triple double in school history with 11 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. The 11 assists were a career-high and the third time this season he has reached double digits. He is the only player in the AAC to have 10 or more assists three times this season.

Tulsa’s Junior Etou was this week’s AAC Player of the Week.
