ACC women’s basketball seedings, matchups set

The tournament, which begins Wednesday, returns to Greensboro after a one-year HB2-related exile

The ACC women’s basketball tournament is back in North Carolina after a one-year exile in Myrtle Beach, S.C., because of the now-repealed H.B. 2. This will be the 18th time in the last 19 years that event will be played at Greensboro Coliseum.

With the end of the regular season on Sunday, the seedings and matchups have been set, with Louisville earning the top spot on the bracket for the first time since joining the conference.

Here is the complete tournament schedule, which begins Wednesday:

First round


Noon — No. 12 UNC vs. No. 13 Boston College, 1 p.m. (Fox Sports Carolinas)

3:30 p.m. — No. 10 Georgia Tech vs. No. 15 Clemson (Fox Sports Carolinas)

6:30 p.m. — No. 11 Wake Forest vs. No. 14 Pittsburgh (Fox Sports Carolinas)

Second round


11 a.m. — No. 5 NC State vs. UNC/BC (Fox Sports Carolinas)

2 p.m. — No. 8 Syracuse vs. No. 9 Virginia Tech (Fox Sports Carolinas)

6 p.m. — No. 7 Virginia vs. GA Tech/Clemson  (Fox Sports Carolinas)

8:30 p.m. — No. 6 Miami vs. Wake Forest/Pitt  (Fox Sports Carolinas)



11 a.m. — No. 4 Duke vs NC State/UNC/BC (Fox Sports Carolinas)
