NC State announced that sophomore point guard Markell Johnson has been suspended indefinitely.

Shortly before tip of the Wolfpack’s Saturday afternoon game against UNCG, the school released a short statement saying, “Markell Johnson has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct. We will not have further comment on this matter at the current time.”

Johnson has started all 10 of State’s previous games this season, after starting just three as a freshman. He has more than doubled his scoring average from last season, at 8.7 ppg. He also leads the team with 66 assists, two shy of last season’s 30-game total.
