The season is young, but through two weeks, Duke is undefeated on the court and in the ACC weekly awards.
Grayson Allen was named ACC Player of the Week for the second week of the regular season, while Wendell Carter Jr. was named Rookie of the Week.
The awards sweep comes a week after Marvin Bagley III won Rookie of the Week and shared Player of the Week with UNC’s Luke Maye.
Allen scored 37 points in a win over No. 2 Michigan State, then added 10 in a home win over Southern. It’s his third career Player of the Week honor.
Carter had back-to-back double-doubles, with 12 points and 12 rebounds against Michigan State and 20 and 11 against Southern.
It’s the third time in four years that Duke had had two different players win Player of the Week and the 10th straight year that Duke has won at least two Player of the Week Awards.
It’s the fourth season in a row that two different Blue Devils have won Rookie of the Week and the eighth straight year that Duke has taken at least two Rookie awards.
Duke has won 110 Rookie of the Week honors in the history of the award, more than any other school. Georgia Tech is next with 85. Duke’s 121 Players of the Week are second to UNC’s 137.
