Saturday’s loss to Notre Dame sent NC State plummeting in this week’s AP Top 25.

After losing to the Irish 35-14, the Wolfpack fell six spots, to No. 20. Iowa State, UCF, Auburn, USC, Stanford and LSU all moved past the Pack.

It’s the biggest poll drop for NC State since the Pack fell nine spots, from 15 to 24, following a loss to Wake Forest in Week 2 of the 2003 season. This is the first time State has appeared in five straight polls since the 2002 season.

Notre Dame moved up four spots, to No. 5, after beating State. The Wolfpack are one of four ACC teams in the Top 25. Clemson moved up one spot, to No. 6, after beating Georgia Tech. Miami fell one, to No. 9, after a closer-than-expected win over North Carolina. Virginia Tech held at No. 13 after beating Duke.

The Pack fell four spots, to No. 19, in the Coaches Poll.
