Wake Forest has announced its nonconference basketball schedule for the 2017-18 season, with seven home games at Joel Coliseum. Coach Danny Manning’s Deacons, who are coming off their first NCAA tournament appearance in seven years, will begin play on Friday, Nov. 10 with a home game against Georgia Southern. They will take on Liberty in Winston-Salem four days later before heading to the Virgin Islands to take on Drake in the opening round of the three-game Paradise Jam tournament. Upon its return from the Caribbean, Wake will play home games against neighboring rival UNC Greensboro, Illinois as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and Richmond before traveling down Interstate 85 for a game at Charlotte. The Deacons will finish off their nonconference slate with home games against Army and Tennessee, sandwiched around a trip to Coastal Carolina. Television broadcast designations and starting times, along with the remainder of the ACC schedule, will be released later this summer. As previously announced, Wake’s conference schedule has home games against Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, NC State, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech. along with road games at Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt and Syracuse. A preseason exhibition game against Division II Queens College is also planned for Joel Coliseum on Nov. 3.
