Wake Forest announced Wednesday that it has added future nonconference games against Liberty to its future football schedule. The three-game series will include two home games at BB&T Field and one return meeting in Lynchburg. The Deacons and Flames will play in Winston-Salem on Sept. 17, 2022 and either Sept. 3, 4 or 5, 2026 with the trip to Liberty sandwiched in between on Aug. 30, 2025. Although the Flames are currently a member of the NCAA’s Football Championship Subdivision, they are in the process of transitioning to the Football Bowl Subdivision. They are expected to be a full member of the FBS by the time they play the Deacons in the first game of the series six years from now.
