The NCAA and its broadcast partners have announced the starting times for first round matchups in this year’s NCAA tournament, which includes five teams from the Old North State. Wake Forest will be the first to take the court when it plays Kansas State in the “First Four” from Dayton on Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. on truTV. On Wednesday, MEAC champion NC Central gets its chance to play its way into the main tournament bracket with a First Four game against UC Davis at 6:40 p.m., also from Dayton on truTV. UNC Wilmington’s NCAA opener against Virginia from Orlando is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, with television coverage on truTV. North Carolina, the top seed in the South Region, will play its first game at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday against Texas Southern from Greenville, S.C., on TNT while Duke, the No. 2 seed in the East, will also play in Greenville at 7:40 p.m., against Troy on TBS.
