North Carolina point guard Joel Berry has been named the ACC’s men’s basketball Player of the Week for the second straight week and fourth time this season after leading the Tar Heels to a pair of league wins. The 6-foot junior recorded 18 points, seven assists and only one turnover on Wednesday in a road win at Wake Forest. He followed that performance up by hitting for a game-high 26 points in UNC’s impressive 96-83 win against Florida State at the Smith Center on Saturday — a victory that ended the Seminoles’ school-record 12-game winning streak and established the Tar Heels as one of the teams to beat in the ACC. Berry shared the Player of the Week award with Notre Dame guard Steve Vasturia, whose Fighting Irish are the only undefeated team in league play. Georgia Tech freshman Josh Okogie was named the ACC’s Rookie of the Week for his play in wins against Clemson and NC State.
