App State beat Coastal Carolina

WILMINGTON — Shykeim Phillips had 16 points in UNC Wilmington’s 69-56 victory over Monmouth on Thursday night.

Trazarien White scored 14 points and added eight rebounds for the Seahawks (10-5, 1-2 Coastal Athletic Association). Maleeck Harden-Hayes also had 14 points.

Xander Rice finished with 26 points for the Hawks (9-7, 2-1). Jakari Spence added seven points and five assists for Monmouth. Jaret Valencia also recorded seven points, two steals and five blocks.

UNC Wilmington took the lead with 52 seconds remaining in the first half and did not relinquish it. White led his team in scoring with eight points in the first half to help put them up 32-28 at the break. UNC Wilmington pulled away with a 9-0 run in the second half to extend a one-point lead to 10 points. Phillips had a team-high 14 second-half points.

Appalachian State 70, Coastal Carolina 45

CONWAY, S.C. — Myles Tate’s 13 points helped Appalachian State defeat Coastal Carolina 70-45 on Thursday night.

Tate also added five rebounds for the Mountaineers (12-4, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference). Tre’Von Spillers added 12 points with seven rebounds, and Terence Harcum finished with 10 points.

Jacob Meyer led the Chanticleers (4-11, 1-3) in scoring, finishing with 13 points and seven rebounds. Jaland Whitehead added eight points and eight rebounds for Coastal Carolina. John Ojiako also had six points.

Samford 79, UNC Greensboro 70

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Achor Achor scored 22 points and Samford defeated UNC Greensboro 79-70 on Thursday night for its 14th straight victory.

Achor had three blocks for the Bulldogs (14-2, 3-0 Southern Conference). Jaden Campbell scored 21 points with eight rebounds. Rylan Jones added 16.

The Spartans (11-5, 2-1) were led in scoring by Mikeal Brown-Jones, who finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Kobe Langley added 15 points, six assists, three steals and two blocks for UNC Greensboro. Joryam Saizonou also had eight points.

Drexel 67, North Carolina A&T 63

GREENSBORO — Amari Williams had 15 points in Drexel’s 67-63 victory over North Carolina A&T on Thursday night.

Williams had nine rebounds and five blocks for the Dragons (11-6, 4-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Luke House scored 13 points with five rebound, while Justin Moore added 11 points.

The Aggies (3-13, 1-2) were led in scoring by Landon Glasper, who finished with 21 points and three steals. N.C. A&T also got 11 points from Camian Shell. In addition, Jalal McKie had 11 points.

Drexel went into halftime leading N.C. A&T 35-29. House put up seven points in the half. Drexel used a 12-2 second-half run erase a three-point deficit and take the lead at 53-46 with 9:48 remaining. Williams scored eight second-half points.

Delaware 68, Campbell 62

BUIES CREEK — Gerald Drumgoole Jr. scored 20 points off of the bench to lead Delaware past Campbell 68-62 on Thursday night.

Drumgoole added six rebounds for the Fightin’ Blue Hens (10-6, 2-1 Coastal Athletic Association). Cavan Reilly scored 15 points and added four steals. Christian Ray finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Jasin Sinani led the way for the Fighting Camels (7-9, 1-2) with 16 points and nine rebounds. Elijah Walsh added 15 points for Campbell. Anthony Dell’Orso also recorded 13 points and three steals.

Drumgoole scored 11 points in the first half and Delaware went into the break trailing 31-28. Drumgoole led Delaware with nine points in the second half as his team outscored Campbell by nine.

Charleston 80, Elon 62

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Ante Brzovic and Ben Burnham each scored 20 points in Charleston’s 80-62 win against Elon on Thursday night.

Brzovic had eight rebounds and five assists for the Cougars (12-4, 3-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Kobe Rodgers added 14 points and seven rebounds. The Cougars picked up their eighth straight victory.

The Phoenix (8-8, 1-2) were led in scoring by Max Mackinnon, who finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Sam Sherry added 13 points and two steals for Elon. Zac Ervin also had 11 points.

Charleston took the lead with 5:12 left in the first half and did not give it up. The score was 41-34 at halftime, with Burnham racking up 11 points. Burnham scored a team-high nine points in the final half.
