Wake Forest will look to get to 4-0 heading into a bye week when it hosts Georgia Tech in the Deacons’ ACC opener. The Yellow Jackets are battle-tested— they’ve already played a conference game (season-opening 39-34 home loss to Louisville) and went to SEC country last week and lost 48-23 at then-No. 17 Ole Miss. Georgia Tech, however, ranks 131st in the country in run defense with 240.7 yards allowed per game.

Players to Watch
Wake Forest linebacker Jacob Roberts: The Charlotte native and transfer from North Carolina A&T hasn’t had any trouble transitioning to FBS, totaling 31 tackles, five sacks and 6½ tackles for loss in his first three games with the Deacons. Roberts and teammate Jasheen Davis (4½ sacks) have been the country’s top-two pass rushers so far this season.
Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King: The Texas A&M transfer already has more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage in his first three games with the Jackets, throwing for 910 yards and nine touchdowns with just one interception and running for 95 more with a score. He’s completed 70% of his passes the last two weeks and gives Georgia Tech a puncher’s chance if it can keep Wake from rolling up points.
