High Point, Campbell and Western Carolina were all winners

GREENVILLE — Brandon Johnson scored 16 points to lead East Carolina past Cincinnati 75-71 on Wednesday night.

Johnson also added six rebounds for the Pirates (13-12, 4-8 American Athletic Conference). RJ Felton added 15 points with five rebounds and six assists. Ezra Ausar recorded 14.

Jeremiah Davenport and Landers Nolley II each scored 19 points for the Bearcats (17-10, 8-6). In addition, David Dejulius had 15 points and five assists.

High Point 71, Presbyterian 69

CLINTON, S.C. — Jaden House scored 21 points as High Point beat Presbyterian 71-69 on Wednesday night to hand the Blue Hose their 14th-straight loss.

Kobe Stewart missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the chance to win it.

Zach Austin scored 19 points and added six rebounds and three steals, and Bryant Randleman scored 16 points for the Panthers (12-15, 4-11 Big South Conference).

The Blue Hose (5-23, 1-14) were led by Owen McCormack, who posted 15 points. Presbyterian also got 12 points and 15 rebounds from Stewart. Quadir Pettaway also had 12 points.

High Point hosts South Carolina Upstate and Presbyterian visits Campbell both on Saturday.

Campbell 67, Charleston Southern 51

BUIES CREEK — Jay Pal scored 25 points and had seven rebounds and Campbell beat Charleston Southern 67-51 on Wednesday night.

Joshua Lusane scored 13 points and Anthony Dell’Orso finished with 10 points for the Fighting Camels (12-15, 7-8 Big South Conference).

Taje’ Kelly finished with 12 points and six rebounds for the Buccaneers (8-18, 4-11). Tahlik Chavez added eight points and seven rebounds for Charleston Southern. In addition, Kalib Clinton had eight points.

Campbell hosts Presbyterian on Saturday.

Western Carolina 68, ETSU 66

CULLOWHEE — Tyler Harris’ 14 points helped Western Carolina defeat East Tennessee State 68-66 on Wednesday night.

Harris finished 4 of 5 from 3-point range for the Catamounts (15-13, 8-7 Southern Conference). Vonterius Woolbright scored 12 points and added six rebounds and eight assists. Tre Jackson was finished with 11 points.

The Buccaneers (10-18, 6-9) were led by Jordan King, who recorded 23 points, six assists and three steals. Jalen Haynes added 12 points and 12 rebounds for East Tennessee State. In addition, Deanthony Tipler had 12 points and two steals.

Western Carolina’s next game is Saturday against Mercer on the road.

Winthrop 86, Gardner-Webb 78

BOILING SPRINGS — Cory Hightower’s 22 points helped Winthrop defeat Gardner-Webb 86-78 on Wednesday night.

Hightower also added six rebounds for the Eagles (12-16, 7-8 Big South Conference). Kelton Talford also scored 22 points, and Kasen Harrison finished with 14 points.

DQ Nicholas finished with 21 points for the Runnin’ Bulldogs (15-12, 10-5). Kareem Reid added 14 points, three steals and two blocks for Gardner-Webb. Julien Soumaoro also recorded 11 points and Caleb Robinson had his fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The loss ended a seven-game winning streak for the Runnin’ Bulldogs.

Gardner-Webb visits UNC Asheville on Saturday.

Samford 83, UNC Greensboro 71

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Bubba Parham scored 21 points to help Samford defeat UNC Greensboro 83-71 on Wednesday night.

Parham added three steals for the Bulldogs (19-9, 13-2 Southern Conference). Ques Glover scored 17 points, and Jermaine Marshall recorded 15.

Keondre Kennedy led the Spartans (18-10, 12-3) in scoring, finishing with 18 points. Keyshaun Langley added 17 points for UNC Greensboro. In addition, Donovan Atwell finished with 11 points.

Saint Louis 78, Davidson 65

ST. LOUIS — Gibson Jimerson scored 24 points as Saint Louis beat Davidson 78-65 on Wednesday night.

Jimerson shot 6 for 12 from beyond the arc for the Billikens (17-9, 9-4 Atlantic 10 Conference). Javon Pickett scored 16 points and added five rebounds. Sincere Parker recorded 13 points.

The Wildcats (11-14, 4-9) were led in scoring by Sam Mennenga, who finished with 17 points and six rebounds. Desmond Watson added 13 points and David Skogman contributed 12 points, nine rebounds and two steals.
