RALEIGH — North Carolina Rep. Dan Bishop (NC-09) has introduced a resolution outlining the Marxist roots of the Critical Race Theory (CRT) and threat it poses to the United States.

“Today, I introduced a resolution that details the Marxist roots of CRT and the threat it poses to the American Republic,” tweeted Bishop on July 29. “CRT proponents cannot be allowed to conceal the foundations of their racist ideology.”

News outlet The Daily Caller broke the news and obtained a copy of the resolution ”Establishing the Marxist roots of critical race theory and detail the threat this divisive ideology poses to the American republic.”

The resolution reads, in part:

“Resolved, That the House of Representatives — (1) recognizes critical race theory and its derivatives as a form of Marxist ideology;  (2) recognizes that critical race theory exists in direct opposition to the founding ideals, way of life, and form of government of the United States; and (3) declares that, as a Marxist ideology, critical race theory poses a significant threat to the United States Republic, its citizens, and the free people of the world rising to the degree of a clear and present danger to the Republic, its citizens, and the States, its allies, and the good and happiness of mankind.”

Bishop has been involved in two previous bills aimed at stopping CRT, “Combatting Racist Training in the Military Act,” and the “The Stop CRT Act” which seeks to ban all federal funding for teaching, training or promoting the controversial theory and would codify an executive order signed by former President Trump in 2020 that banned CRT training in federal agencies.

Ten Republicans have signed onto the resolution as cosponsors, including Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL), Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX), Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), and Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC).
