Athletes with NC ties competing in Tokyo Olympics

The list of competitors, representing U.S. and several other countries, will be going for gold over the next three weeks is a long one

North Carolina will be well represented at the Tokyo Olympics, which officially began with opening ceremonies on Friday.

So as you watch the Games unfold over the next three weeks, keep an eye out for these participating athletes with ties to the state, representing the United States and several other countries:
