North Carolina has agreed to play a home-and-home football series against TCU, with the Tar Heels hosting the Horned Frogs on Sept. 13, 2025, then traveling to Fort Worth, Tex., for a return game on Sept. 12, 2026. UNC and TCU have played three previous times, with the Tar Heels winning each game — in 1940, 1994 and 1997. Here is a look at UNC’s future nonconference schedules as they currently stand: 2017: Sept. 2 vs. California; Sept. 16 at Old Dominion; Oct. 7 vs. Notre Dame; Nov. 18 vs. Western Carolina 2018: Sept. 1 at California; Sept. 8 at East Carolina; Sept. 15 vs. Central Florida; Nov. 17 vs. Western Carolina 2019: Aug. 31 vs. South Carolina (at Charlotte); Sept. 14 at Wake Forest (non ACC game) 2020: Sept. 12 at Central Florida; Sept. 26 vs. Old Dominion 2021: Sept. 11 vs. Georgia State; Sept. 25 vs. Wake Forest (non ACC game); TBA at Notre Dame 2022: Sept. 10 vs. Georgia State; TBA vs. Notre Dame 2023: TBA vs. South Carolina (at Charlotte) 2024: Sept 7 vs. Charlotte 2025: Sept. 6 at Charlotte, Sept. 13 vs. TCU 2026: Sept. 12 at TCU
