RALEIGH – State Rep. Larry Pittman, a Cabarrus County Republican, announced in a constituent newsletter that 2021-22 would be his last term in the General Assembly.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported me in this office. It has been my privilege to serve the people of my district and of this great state, and I will continue to do all I can to take care of constituent needs, protect our citizens’ rights, and uphold our State and US Constitutions during these two years,” Pittman said.
Chosen by party activists to replace state Rep. Jeff Barnhardt, who has become an influential lobbyist in Raleigh, Pittman has fended off several primary challenges in his five elected terms in office and increasingly competitive general elections in the rapidly-growing county.
