The Carolina Mudcats have been selected as the host for the 2018 Carolina League All-Star Game, the team announced Wednesday. The game will be played at Five County Stadium in Zebulon next July on a date to be determined later. This will be the third minor league all-star game to be played at Five County Stadium. The Mudcats also played host to the Southern League All-Star Game in 2008 and a 1997 game between the Southern League all-stars and the Seattle Mariners. “It is our honor to bring the Carolina League’s future Major League stars to Zebulon for next year’s All-Star Classic,” Mudcats’ vice president and general manager Joe Kremer said in a statement. “I’m excited to see this event come to Five County Stadium for all of our great fans here in Eastern North Carolina.” The Mudcats, who are affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers, have been a member of the 10-team Class A Carolina league since 2012.
