NC State (40-14, 19-11) is the No. 3 seed. The Wolfpack will play in Group C against No. 6 Florida State (39-17, 16-13) in a rematch of this weekend’s competitive series in Tallahassee, and No. 10 Virginia (28-24, 12-18)

Fourth seeded Duke (39-14, 18-11) will take its homefield advantage into Pool D, along with No. 5 Louisville (40-16, 18-12) and No. 9 Wake Forest (25-30, 13-17). The Blue Devils, who have already tied a school record for wins in a season, have a sterling 27-6 record in Durham.

The tournament will feature a pool play format, with the winners of each group advancing to a single elimination bracket to determine the league champion. Each team in the four pools will play one game against each of the other two opponents in its pool Tuesday through Friday.

UNC and Wake Forest will begin tournament play on Wednesday, with the Deacons taking on Louisville in the early game at 11 a.m. and the Tar Heels playing Pittsburgh at approximately 7 p.m.

NC State and Duke will have to wait until Thursday to get into action.  The Wolfpack opens with Virginia in the afternoon game, 30 minutes after the end of the Blue Devils’ in-state showdown against Wake Forest. UNC, Duke and State will all complete pool play with games on Friday.

Saturday’s semifinals are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., while Sunday’s championship will begin at noon.
