Siler City – The North Carolina Army National Guard’s 112th Finance Detachment at the Siler City Armory deployed to Kuwait this weekend in support of Operation Joint Guardian.
The guard members will provide financial support for U.S. military forces, US government contractors, local nationals and joint coalition forces in Kuwait. They will join more than 450 Virginia, Maryland and Army National Guard soldiers a combined forces contingency operation that according to the U.S. Army is designed to deter and react to possible threats within the region.
The unit’s last deployment was to Kosovo in support of “Operation Joint Guardian” in 2013. This is the fourth overseas deployment for the detachment.
