CLEVELAND The Republican National Convention released partial list of speakers to appear at next week’s nominating convention in Cleveland. Jeff Larson, CEO of the 2016 RNC, said that each night of the convention which starts July 18 will focus on a different element of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” theme: national security, immigration, trade and jobs. Larson also said the list is expected to change as the convention nears.
Notable names on it include former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, both on Trump’s short list for possible running mates. Trump’s campaign said he plans to announce a running mate Friday, July 15. He spent Wednesday meeting with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, another candidate to be his choice for vice president.
