On Tuesday, July 14, the Republican executive committee of N.C. Senate District 26 met to choose a replacement for retiring state Sen. Jerry Tillman.

“Thank you to the people of Senate District 26 for selecting me to fill the remainder of Senator Tillman’s term. I want to thank him for his countless years of service to the State of North Carolina,” said Craven following his selection.” I look forward to earning your vote this November and being a strong conservative voice for the good folks of Randolph and Guilford counties in the North Carolina Senate.”

NCGOP chairman Michael Whatley said following the meeting, “Congratulations to Dave Craven, who was selected tonight to replace the retiring Jerry Tillman. We look forward to working with Dave in the Senate and on the campaign trail.  We also congratulate Sen. Tillman and thank him for his service to North Carolina.”
