UNCG rolls Samford to keep up with SoCon leaders

GREENSBORO — Kyrin Galloway scored 19 points and James Dickey had a double-double and UNC Greensboro overran Samford 95-67 on Sunday.

The Spartans (19-6, 9-3 Southern Conference) established a 25-17 lead in the first 10 minutes before a 13-2 run created a 19-point lead.

Jalen Dupree followed with a three-point play, Robert Allen scored a 3-pointer and a jump shot to bring Samford within 38-27 with 5:07 before halftime but they couldn’t get closer.

Dickey scored 13 points with 16 rebounds, Kaleb Hunter scored 16, Michael Hueitt Jr. 11 and Isaiah Miller 10. UNC Greensboro has won two straight and seven of its last eight. The Spartans sit a game out of first place behind East Tennessee State and Furman both tied at 10-2.

Allen scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Samford. Donte Tatum scored 11 and Jalen Dupree 10.

The Bulldogs (8-18, 2-10) have lost 10 straight.
