A loss to Wake Forest knocked NC State back out of the AP Top 25. The Wolfpack, which had just re-entered the poll the previous week at No. 25, fell out after losing to the Deacs 30-24 in Winston-Salem on Saturday.

The loss also cost State a spot in the coaches poll. The Wolfpack had been ranked in the coaches Top 25 for seven straight weeks and was No. 22 last week.

NC State is still the North Carolina team with the most poll points. The Wolfpack had nine points, 29th most in the poll. Wake Forest was two spots behind the Pack with seven points. State was 30th in the coaches poll with 13 points, two spots ahead of Wake, which had eight.

Three ACC teams placed in the top 25. Miami remained at No. 2 in both polls after beating Virginia. The Canes got three first-place votes in the AP Poll.

Clemson remained No. 4 in the AP poll and No. 3 in the coaches rankings after beating FCS foe The Citadel.

Virginia Tech re-entered both polls after beating Pitt. The Hokies are No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 25 in the coaches.
