Wake Forest got two goals from Ema Twumasi within a two-minute span late in the second half to beat ACC rival Virginia Tech 2-0 and join another ACC rival, North Carolina, in the NCAA’s men’s soccer Final Four. The victory extends the Deacons’ unbeaten streak to 12 games and sends them to the College Cup semifinals for the fifth time in program history — where they will play unbeaten Denver next Saturday in Houston. UNC, which punched its ticket Friday with a double overtime victory against Providence, will take on Stanford in the other semifinal. Wake (18-2-3) was locked in a scoreless duel with the Hokies until the 80th minute, when Twumasi took a pass from teammate Ian Harkes and beat Tech goalie Ben Lundgaard with a low shot from close range. The freshman got another chance from a similar spot just two minutes later. This time Lundgaard made the first save. But he couldn’t hold onto to the ball, leaving a rebound for Twumasi put into the net for his sixth goal of the year. At the other end of the field, Wake goalie Andreu Cases Mundet recorded his 13th shutout of the season, just two shy of the school record set during the Deacons’ national championship run in 2007.
